Another in my series of pics with me and someone famous from the world of animation and/or cartooning.....

This one is a bit of a stretch, since he is not an artist: Jeffrey Katzenburg. If you don't know who he is, google him. This was around the time we wrapped up Lion King and he was probably in Florida doing some LK publicity or something. He was head of Disney animation at the time, but left soon after this to start Dreamworks with Geffen and Spielberg. I look like even more of a giant next to him, huh?

Jeffrey's the best. My dad works for Dreamworks, and has been to several meetings with him. In my opinion, he really was the main creative force that drove the animated features for "Little Mermaid" through "Lion King." I know that overall, it was much more of a group effort, but he definitely contributed a great deal at Disney. I'm only sorry that he was forced to leave (or resign, whichever comes first), but I suppose if he never left, Dreamworks would never have been established. :-/

I had just seen that documentary, "Waking Sleeping Beauty" by Don Hahn a month or two ago. It's always interesting seeing this guy around after watching that |D

Co-founding Dreamworks afterwards though! That's so interesting. History is interesting.

Wow, he's.....a LOT shorter than I would've guessed.

Alas, he was about to lose the buffer that was Frank Wells, and there was nothing to keep he and Eisner from battling each other and dragging the company into the swamp.
