This is a never before seen animation test I did years ago during the pre-production of the film Curious George. My biz partner and I each did a test so that we could get on the film. They liked the test. With us being a small studio in Nashville that killed our chances on working long distance on it. Done cold, with only a few early model sheets to go by. The sound is terrible, but I do think that's Will Ferrel. Here's the Youtube link: [link]

Thanks, good note. I think this was DigiCel. That was the same system they used in-house at Universal.

cool. would you recommend it to any other programs if youve tried any other? because my school is looking for a replacement to an old program we're using called ernest. its super old so no more updates and it expires to be used I think.

anyways keep posting linetests, and hopefully keep animating! you rock! :)

I like Digicel, its the closest (very close) to the pencil test system that Disney created (propriatary). Its made for 2D guys, unlike Flash and some of the others out there.

My school uses Digicel Flipbook, it's really handy for pencil tests, and you can tradigitally animate in it as well. I personally really like it, though sometimes it can be buggy, but it's worth checking out. There's a free trial download that you can try out ([link]), though it has a big watermark over the window.

That is Will Ferrel. His role in this and in Megamind were enjoyable because he wasn't being absolutely stupid. But I love the Curious George movie!! It was a good reboot for the series that I grew up on!! Man in the Yellow Hat was quite good looking in this movie!

Nice! I really like that you're posting these, deviantart is always in need of some awesome animation :D
I know that Yowza Animation in Toronto animated and cleaned up on the film, but as far as I know, there were a few studios working on this, right?
~bmaras and I hopped onto the end of 'Titeuf: The Film' (that just came out) which was mainly being done in France and Spain, but they were sending work out to Canada and the UK as well and our boss in Canada was actually a few provinces away and it got really confusing and pretty frustrating having to send things back to him for approval and then he'd have to send them to France/Spain for approvals, there was a lot of back and forth messaging and it took so much longer then it would have if we were in house, even in our boss' studio in Canada. It was first film for animating on though, so it was a really cool experience, but my shots aren't too good ;)

Thanks for that, I appreciate it. Glad to hear you are keeping the 2D animation flame alive! Yeah, the irony to my story is that a TON of outside studios worked on Curious George. We were just too small, they wanted to give out too much work for us to handle. You don't hear those kind of problems that often anymore, huh?
