Sketch for the day....I wanted to draw a girl and thought I'd draw something other than a super heroine. A mermaid came to mind and then two influences- Disney and Chris Sanders. Both have iconic mermaids in their toolbox and gave me plenty to have fun with. Unfortuently, I'm not Chris Sanders. He can make all these crazy, rubber, contorted poses look so appealing- I do it and it just looks all twisted and unclear. After I finished this one, I wished I had switched her arms. Reaching with the far one would have worked better, I think. Its a warm up, what are you gonna do?
