Another in my "what's on my studio walls" series. All are bad photos, sorry.

This one is a SCAR rough from LION KING by supervising animator Andreas Deja. If I remember right, this was a throw away drawing from a part of the scene that was cut/changed. Oh yeah, and his comment of "see you in Florida" is because he wrote this while working on LION KING in CA but was planning on coming to Florida for a trip to our studio. A few years later, he ended up living in Florida and working with our studio while he animated LILO in Lilo and Stitch. He moved back to CA after that.

scar is probably like my favorite disney bad guy ^^ haha I always yell at him when he tricks simba to stay by the tree

and laugh at him telling him 'That's what you get' when the hyenas turn on him and kill him in the end O.o I uh get a little too into some disney movies... well acctually all disney movies

my sister and I ten to pretend we are the inner thoughts of characters and say what we think they are thinking and talk to the characters like they can hear us haha it annoys my mom a ton XD

Andreas Deja is one of my favorite animators because of Scar and Jafar!
I think I have three, at least two, DVDs where he does commentary.
The only animator whose autograph I'd want more would be the woman who animated SnakeJafar, because she went into labor while she was doing it and still finished it!

I haven't talked to Andreas in awhile... he is such a down to Earth person. He drew me two different sketches of Lilo and then I have a whole bunch of other things he gave me. I met him through Make-a-Wish foundation a few years back...

HI TOM!
Let me tell you Andreas Deja is one of my favorite artists of all time in 2D animation!
Also Andreas create and animate Gaston (from BATB) Jaffar (From Aladdin), Hercules and animate Roger Rabbit in many secuences, and Mickey Mouse in "Runaway Brain". What a tremendous and versatile hand!
I really don't know were does a great artists like Andreas go with all this invasion of 3D digital animated movies.

Yo creo que esta pelicula tiene un mensaje racial,Nosotros tenemos por un lado al rey Mufasa y a su hermano skar por otro lado. Mufasa quiere seguir el ciclo,el desea mantener el equilibrio natural,su hijo sera el siguiente rey ,por otro lado tenemos a skar ,el quiere unir a los leones con las hienas,pero esto crea una catastrofe.Esto se debe a que no hay suficiente comida para todos.
Skar manda trae a las hienas y llega el apocalipsis ,destruccion,hambre,muertes....,al final vuelve simba y recupera el trono de su padre.
Que quiere decir esto,pues la verdad no la se, pero me suena a algo .
¿QUien es el malo Mufasa o skar?
I think this film has a racial message, We have on one side to King Mufasa and his brother on the other hand skar. Mufasa wants to continue the cycle, the wish to maintain the natural balance, your child will be the next king, on the other hand we have skar, he wants to unite the lions to hyenas, but this creates an catastrofe.Esto is because there enough food for everyone. Skar brings sent to the hyena and the apocalypse comes, destruction, hunger, death becomes the end ...., simba and recovers the throne of his father. What does that mean, the truth is not, but it sounds like something. Who is the bad guy or skar Mufasa?

Scar si one of the best Disney villains EVER, and Andreas did a magnificent job bring him to life (as did Jeremy Irons). This is really cool!
