Back in the 90s, I did a bunch of freelance doing comic books and commercial animation while I was at Disney as the day job. (We'd have down time between films and I was always doing stuff at night too.)

At any rate, Disney started a comic line and I did some of my first comic book work for them. They put out about two issues of a Little Mermaid spin-off comic about Sebastian the crab. I did both covers. This is the pencils and final for issue #2. I don't think I designed the "mentor" older crab in behind the podiam. He was from the interior story that someone else drew.

oh wow, i had no idea side work was allowed

but considering down-time... i should have thought it possible
i use to love reading all the little "side" stories that would come out after a film, as well as the comic versions of the movies
and this is a great little blast from the past
