Stitch from Ork by tombancroft Stitch from Ork by tombancroft
Over on my Patreon page (www.patreon.com/tombancroft) someone suggested I draw Robin Williams.  I'd rather not just do a caricature, but it got me thinking of his BEST role (for me, since I was young when it was on) Mork from Ork from the "Mork and Mindy" TV show.  Well, then I plugged in my usual desire to draw a Disney character and thought of the wildest alien character they have: and here's what came out.  So, is it in bad taste, cute, or funny?  I hope one of the last two, its not meant to be distasteful to Robin.

I dont find this distasteful at all. Robin Williams is a true hollywood legend and i feel like any work that is created in his memory, whether it be portraits of him or even little drawings based on the roles he has played, are definitely ok. I loved getting to see a marathon of Mork and Mindy this past weekend before Labor Day. Honestly, watching even 5 minutes of the first episode made me cry because the reality that we won't be graced with his comedic genius anymore had hit, n i was a total wreck.
R.I.P. Robin Williams

Yes, I know what it means and what it's from.  I was questioning the spelling of said phrase.

I've only ever seen the first season of Mork and Mindy and a few episodes that randomly popped up on the syfy channel.
Personally I loved the show, and while it's way out of my generation, I wish it weren't ;3;
I think my sisters and I are the only 20 years olds that greet each other with Nanoo Nanoo X3
Anyways to the real point, I think if Robin saw this he'd enjoy it. Silly things and smiles were his domain, and I think he'd hate for us to frown even though he's gone.

Love Stitch as Mork. =3
Fits as a nice tribute to his Alien character from that show, even though, I probably never saw it myself, or atleast can't remember it, but for some reason it looks familiar that show to me.

Disney related, Genie was also a memorable role he did, past few days I've been listening to the song Friend Like Me, he sure had some talent, for some reason it's true, you don't notice it, until someone has passed on, then you kinda see what talent just got lost from us.

Apparantly for Genie he improvised soo much there was like 16 hours of recorded material.
Kinda wonder what else he said that hasn't been used for the final film, probably's been archived in the Disney Vault, well, hopefully.

Might be fun and interesting to listen to.

R.I.P. Robin.

Actually, it fits great. It really shows off the high energy that both characters have from the show as well as the movie. Great work!
