Wonder Woman- again. by tombancroft Wonder Woman- again. by tombancroft
I'm doing up a few drawings to sell (hopefully) at the Nashville Wizard World comic con this weekend.  Of course, I had to start with the obligatory Wonder Woman.  This one, I actually tried to make her look a little a (young) adult rather than a 14 year old, as usual.

You know, back before superhero movies were taking themselves too seriously, I always wanted to see Sandra Bullock as Wonder Woman. That would have been awesome!

Rather, it seems like (considering her pose), that she is BLOCKING them to not get hit.

the face looks great, but the pose overall is a bit stiff I think.  The pose doesnt feel like its telling a story. I think that would be cool. what is she looking at?

Your Wonder Woman art is amazing.  Was your art influenced by Dc or Marvel artists?

I'm more of a Marvel guy, but I seem to draw lots of DC because I love the classic costumes.  I'm more influenced by Disney than Marvel though.

Amazing! Could you please tell me if you use 3d segments for the rough form or 2d loops? (or do you go straight to the final shape?)

Its all drawn traditionally, and I do rough it out with shapes first.

thanks! But let me rephrase: are your rough shapes (the traditionally drawn ones), forshortened and multifaced or are they just flat loops and shapes? I try using both, but sometimes i get too carried away with 3D roughs and start to treat them as polished objects XD.

I don't use Photoshop or Illustrator tools to make the rough shapes I start with.  They are rough sketches that I start with and then tighten them up as I add details.

Portland had a Con this past weekend. You should get a booth there sometime; it'd be great to meet you.
