Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine  that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam  deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.
I know this is a no-duh for 90% of people reading it but for the sake of the rest lets revise what we all should know about online phishig. And before you go all:

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

HEROES CON this weekend! AA-614

Hey everyone.  I hope you're having a good summer.  I am too.  Its a busy time for me right now since I have back to back family vacations (I usually bring work with me) and back to back comic convention appearances.  The first one is HEROES CON in Charlotte, NC this Friday!  I leave tomorrow morning, whew, tons to do before then!  I will be at table AA-614, in the same aisle as Stephane Roux, Clayton Henry, Walt Simmonson, and old pal Phil Noto!  Pretty intimidating, but i hope to get some of their overspill of fans.  Come by and say hi to me and mention we're friends on DA or Facebook.  Here's what I'm gonna have to sell:  My new 2012 sketchbook (first time for sell in the U.S. and in a limited supply), both of my books: Character Mentor and Creating Characters with Personality (not many of the latter, though), my character design Workbook #1, and a portfolio of sketches that I'll probably put a flat price on.  Also, I'll be doing sketches live for anyone (for a price, sorry).  COME ON DOWN!  I can't wait, the line up at this con is extremely impressive!

Sounds great. I hope that the events go very well for you. I'm curious, you mentioned that you normally take work with you on vacations, do you find it hard to balance work life and home life? Any advice you can give to an independent artist like myself in regards to that?

I should write a journal about that sometime, its a good discussion. In this case, its just because my family wanted to do two vacations this year, the first one I didn't take work. This one, it was asking too much from clients to not have work with me.
