Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

I just wanted to say a quick thanks to all the new "watchers" (I like 'friends' better, but I guess FB has that already) that have started watching my DA page in the last couple days. For some reason, you post a couple Simba drawings and people go nuts! I got 500 WATCHERS IN ONE DAY! I saw that number pop up and my eyes bugged out. We love that Lion King movie still, huh? I do, that's for sure. It was a blast to work on it. I'll have to write a journal about it soon. So, bad news is that I didn't look ahead to well and just realized I might not be able to post Thurs and Fridays Simba sketch this week! I am going out of town tonight- to Kenosha, Wisconsin- to be a guest speaker for a Cartoonist Festival they are having there. On Thurday I will be speaking at Carthage College and doing a radio interview (local public radio) and then on Friday a panel (free and open to the public) with the other cartoonists there on the subject of "Marketing yourself as an artist". I will be talking about all of you (indirectly) and about the incredible atmosphere here on Deviant Art, for sure! (Google Kenosha Cartoon Festival for more details). I hope some of you will be there! Mention DA, if you come, I'd like to meet my "watchers"! (That still sounds terrible.)

AND, for those of you in COSTA RICA, I have been frantically working on renewing my passport this week so I can attend the (I dont' know what it is called) Comic con and animation convention there! Its the weekend of Oct. 1st. I don't have many details (which makes me feel uneasy that its still on) but if you are there, I sure I hope I can meet you! More on that if I hear anything.

Well, when you advertise yourself with something so popular, people tend to notice you more.

I had never heard of you or your brother before I found your Lion King pictures, but I always enjoy finding artists who worked on animated features that I love and seeing what else they do in their career. I wanted to be an animator once upon a time, but my life pushed me in every direction other than that one. Never fear, I still enjoy drawing and even more than that, I love watching other artists succeed in the dream I wanted. I wish you the best of luck and patience and motivation in everything that you do, and I only hope other people are just as inspired by you to continue to do what they love.
