For those of you that are registering/have registered for the Tom Bancroft character Workshop #1 for this Thursday, see the information below about the optional assignment.  You should be getting this as an email blast today (Monday) also.  For those that have been asking, we will be sending you all (that have paid/registered) a link to the website and any other info you need THE DAY OF THE WORKSHOP.  Looking forward to it!

WORKSHOP #1 UPDATE
Thursday, July 26th, 8PM, CST

ATTENTION Artists registered for the WORKSHOP! Optional Assignment below. One or two will be selected for Tom Bancroft to review/give notes on LIVE at the workshop.

Workshop #1 Assignment
Please sketch out the assignment below (no inking or color, just sketched) and email a 100dpi, jpg version with your name in the file name , BEFORE THURSDAY, July 26th, to: info@charactermentorstudio.com.
Assignment:
Design a male or female superhero. He/ she is a humorous character in a potential film (think of MasterMind or The Incredibles) so the style should be semi-cartoony. His/her personality is that he/she is clumsy and not very confident. He/she has it in her to become one of the best, but at this moment lacks the confidence to make it happen. He/she is still a teenager, somewhere between 15-17. His/her powers are electricity based- he/she has some kind of gauntlets/arm bands that the electricity blasts out of. The rest is up to you as far as the costume, pose, and character design goes. I suggest you put the character in a dynamic pose that not only shows his/her personality but also his/her power.

Okay! Well, I'm giving a shot at the character anyway so I at least have something to compare with whatever tips and critiques you give on the others. Thanks! Can't wait for this! Haven't seen the same-day e-mail with the link you mentioned, but keeping an eye out.

Is it okay if I email a digital sketch? Or do you want it to be traditional?

So are you looking for just 1 sketch of a solid posed character or can it be a few of the same design put together in 1 image like a 360?
