I had a good time last night with the LIVE Character Mentor Workshop. Many of you showed up even though we had some tech issues getting the email link out to you all. It finally showed up in your emails about a half hour before the event. So sorry for that. I just posted the LIVE sketch I did last night of the boxer (
[link] was "Won" by the participant who's assignment drawing I liked the best and will be mailed to him this week.
For those of you that missed it, I'm sorry. I just figured out that I deleted the event rather than saving it in "drafts". For those of you that missed it, I was planning on posting it for 24 hours and notifying you about it. (I did that last time too.) I'm new to Livestream and discovering new things that bug me about it as the days go on, but overall, its okay. I am trying to make these workshops as exclusive as possible to honor those that pay for it. There are ways that you can sneak in at the last minute without paying and I hope that none of you get tempted to do that. There is a business side to this for me and costs on my end (Taylor keeps saying she wants a raise!) so please keep that in mind if you ever get tempted to pass a link along or view it without payment. My goal is to grow this into a community. I love DA for the community aspect but I feel these workshops go another step further and are more specific to people that create/draw/work with characters.
Along those lines, I want to be able to post ALL of the submissions that we get for each assignment given. I feel bad that I have only spotlighted a few of them. Many I don't show are really well done also! SO- I want to create a DA page for the Character Mentor Studio Workshops. If some of you know a thing or two about those, let me know what it entails. It should be a place where we can all continue the conversations we start at the Live workshops and post the assignments. Maybe other stuff we are doing too. Let me know your thoughts on that. This is just the start and I'm excited to see where things go!
Along those lines, we want to start making a more formal schedule for the workshops (at least tentatively). Our goal is to do them every 2 weeks! Next one is scheduled for Thurs, August 23rd. Start planning on it, I sure will! There's still tons more to learn and do and bring to life!
God bless, Tom B.
