Description

Another in the "what's on my studio walls" series. This one is a gift drawing from my twin brother, Tony, (who was also a Disney animator) of his character, Pumbaa, from Lion King. This is an actual production drawing that he signed as did Ernie Cebella the voice of Pumbaa (and who obviously doesn't know you don't sign ON TOP OF a drawing). The cool part to this is that I was in the Background department one day talking to those guys and saw a bunch of these tiny laser prints from diff. scenes from the movie (this is right after we finished it) and saw one of the exact same frame of Pumbaa that matches my drawing! I asked for it, got it, and framed them together (that's the tiny color piece at the top).
I still haven't gotten a Kronk drawing from Tony, I think I need to ask, huh?

Oh Pumbaa~ I loved Pumbaa so much. When our dog had puppies she had one GIANT puppy that would blindly push all the other puppies out of the way to get to her mum for food. I said 'look at that little Pumbaa' and the name stuck, hahaha. She always was the biggest puppy (because she got the most food!), and nobody picked her... so she was the pup that we kept. When she grew up, she was so fluffy that her back looked like a minor aircraft carrier (but when we bathed her she was a runty little Timon!).

Such a great character from your brother - almost 20 years later and my heart is still moved by this. You and your brother are so fortunate to have been in such a position to have moved so many children, but we were more fortunate to have you there! Thank you!
